Watervliet Boys Basketball
The Watervliet varsity boys basketball team hosted Lawton on Tuesday, Feb. 11 for a non-divisional conference game, attempting to end their recent four-game losing skid. They were successful in that quest, as they reigned victorious, 70-55.
The Panthers (8-11), who entered having not eclipsed fifty points in three straight games, took it out on the Blue Devils, as they found the scoring magic. Watervliet led after the first quarter, 18-12, before outscoring Lawton, 14-6, in the second quarter, pushing their lead to 32-18 at the half. The second half saw the Blue Devils attempt a comeback, cutting their deficit to 47-36 after three quarters, but the Panthers closed it out in the final stanza after a 23-19 scoring burst.
