Watervliet Boys Basketball
The Watervliet varsity boys basketball team traveled to Marcellus Howardsville Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 28 for a non-conference game and got their feet back on the win train, as they pulled away late for the victory, 67-55.
The Panthers (7-7) played a tight game with their opponent throughout the night, managing to pull away in the games dying minutes. Watervliet led after the first quarter, 13-10, before extending their lead by a single point in the second quarter, clinging to a four-point lead at the half, 31-27. The second half saw the Eagles close to within three, 47-44, after three quarters, but, the Panthers put the game away in style in the fourth quarter, dominating the scoreboard, 20-11.
