TOM VASQUEZ

Tom’s life began September 29, 1978, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Tom grew up in Millburg and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Tom worked for Michigan Paving as a plant manager. He was a family guy, his greatest joy revolved around his family. When Tom wasn’t working you could find him proudly watching and coaching his children, planning the next family vacation, working on cars, or making sure to take his wife on date night. Tom also enjoyed filling his time fishing, shooting guns, golfing and camping.

Nothing put a bigger smile on Tom’s face than his loving family, who will miss his jokes and funny personality. His family includes: his wife of 25 years, Heather (Phillips) Vasquez; five children, Makaylah Vasquez (Daniel Sanborn), Briahna (Austin) Silvia, Ahlexis Vasquez, Maryah Vasquez, and Austin Vasquez; his dad, Tom Vasquez; mom Sherry Perkins; six siblings, Sara Vasquez, Anisa Fonseca, Marcus Vasquez, Lindy Vasquez, Terry Vasquez, and Michael Vasquez; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom died Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Friends may visit with Tom’s family Thursday, April 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Freedom Church in Coloma where funeral services will be celebrated Friday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow his service.
