Thomas “Tom” Arthur Crandall, 79, of Bangor, decided to go to the big hunting ground in the sky on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

Tom was born on Aug. 1, 1943, in South Haven, to Arthur and Lila (Robbins) Crandall. Tom honorably served in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam.

Tom loved the outdoors. He worked as an operating engineer with road construction for a living and farming. He spent his free time hunting and fishing “up north.” Tom had many good friends with co-workers, hunting and drinking buddies. He loved his family and all his friends.

In October 54 years ago, he married Lorraine Snyder. They had known each other since the beginning of elementary school.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lorraine Crandall; children, Tom (Enedelia) Crandall Jr., and Elaine (Peggy) Crandall; grandchildren, Quentin Keener, Anni Elzinga and Nolan Pete Crandall, who has a special place in his heart; sisters, Kathy Austin and Susie Pullins; brothers, Kenny (Barb) Crandall and Mike (Sharon) Crandall, nieces and nephews, and special nephew, Chris Crandall.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Lila Crandall; sister, Nancy Crandall, and brother-in-law, John Austin.

The family will have a private inurnment, with a celebration of life gathering on Sept. 11, 2022, 2 – 5 p.m. at the American Legion in Bangor. In lieu of flowers, just think of the special times you spent with Tom. Arrangements are entrusted to Purely Cremations – Starks Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Benton Harbor.
