Richard Rose, 87, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
Richard grew up in Gustine, CA. He graduated from Gustine High School in 1954. After high school he served in the U.S. Seventh Army in Germany.
After his military service he lived in Los Banos, CA before moving to Watervliet, MI in 2006. While in Los Banos he worked at the former Los Banos Bowling Alley. Then he worked for Rainbo Baking Company in Los Banos for 30-plus years until his retirement.
Richard was known as the “Voice of the Tigers” in Los Banos. He announced football, baseball, softball and boys and girls basketball and volleyball games for Los Banos High School for over 35 years.
He volunteered at Watervliet High School sporting events as well, and enjoyed spending time at the North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma.
Cremation has taken place. A private service was held for the family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother and sister.
He is survived by his former wife, son, daughter and three grandchildren.
