Rhonda L. Payne, 53, of South Haven, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Services celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with Rev. James Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Fairplain Chapel.

Rhonda was born on Jan. 10, 1971 in St. Joseph to Charles Payne and Betty Payne-Baum. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1993. She enjoyed fishing, painting, and going to the beach. She loved her two cats. She also enjoyed planting flowers in her flower garden. Rhonda was a loving mother and loved being with her family and children.
Rhonda’s family includes her mother, Betty (Robert) Baum, of Eau Claire; her sons, Branden (Tisha) Blackston, who is in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii, Cody Blackston of South Haven, and Travis Blackston of South Haven; her sisters, Anita (Matt) Hauch of Coloma and Tresa (Ted) Smith of Niles; her brother, David Payne of Benton Harbor; her four grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Henry Blackston, in March of 2024 and by her father Charles Payne.
