Mackenzie Hosbein, a senior at Coloma High School, and a member of the Coloma Lady Comet varsity volleyball team this fall, is the Tri-City Record Press Box Player of the Week for Aug. 29, 2024.
Mackenzie was nominated by her athletic director, Wendy Goodline, because she excels both academically and athletically. This fall she will be on the varsity volleyball team for the fourth straight season. As a senior, she will be counted on for her leadership and work ethic on the court. On the roster, she is listed as a middle hitter, which, by definition, is a “dynamic player who combines athleticism, agility, and precise timing to dominate the net”. Surely, her coach, Kim Swisher, is excited to have an athlete of her caliber back for one last “hoorah”.
