PATRICIA “PAT” VALENTI

Patricia “Pat” Valenti, 83, of Coloma, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Woodland Terrace in Coloma surrounded by her family.


A memorial visitation for friends and family to gather together will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Berrien County Animal Control or the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter. Pat was born Sept. 22, 1939 to Walter and Matilda Peters of Sister Lakes. She and Anthony Valenti were married on Oct. 5, 1963. Pat and Tony celebrated 60 years of marriage and were inseparable as a couple.

Pat was a retired mail carrier in the Coloma area. She enjoyed getting to know the people on her route and established personal relationships with many of them. Pat loved her family dearly. She also had a fondness for children and dogs. She and Tony would visit local schools where they would read to the children. She enjoyed nature and feeding her bluebirds, who would respond to her whistle when it was feeding time. Pat was a kind hearted person who always looked for ways to help others. The family requests that in honor of Pat’s life, each would provide an act of kindness to another.

Pat is survived by her husband Tony; daughters, Denise (Andy) Beem of Corunna, MI, Melissa (Jon) Valenti-Stibal and Karin (Deb) Valenti, both of Coloma, and Kathy (Chuck) Angelo of Benton Harbor; four grandchildren, Trevor Struble, Josh and Jakob Stibal, and Spencer Beem; two great-grandnieces and a grandnephew.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barb Maenhout.
