The Coloma City Council gathered for their regular bi-monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 10 at Coloma City Hall where resolutions for 2025, as well as the Tri-City area housing crisis, were discussed. The primary resolution that was discussed was Resolution 2025-2, which authorizes Coloma City Mayor Marsha Hammond to sign a contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the city’s West Street project.

Eric Kemps, Project Engineer for Wightman Engineering, attended the meeting to inform the council of the company’s ideal estimate. Per the current resolution, the cost of the project is to be split between the city and the state. However, the exact cost of their estimate was not mentioned during the meeting. Bids for the project start in March and work on the project is slated to start later this year.
