Mary Ann Baiers, 83 of Watervliet, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mary Ann was born Sept. 10, 1939 in Oak Lawn, Illinois to Peter and Marie (Romich) White. She moved to Michigan when she was a child and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1957, where she met her husband Donald. During high school she worked at Love Tractor, later working at Silver Mills Fruit Processing and eventually owning and operating Baiers Orchards along with her husband Don in Bainbridge Township.
Mary Ann was a member of the Golden Girls, which is a group of dear friends who traveled and skied together for over 40 years. She was a member of the Service Social Sorority Beta Sigma Phi and a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Bainbridge where she served on multiple committees through the years. In her free time, Mary Ann enjoyed reading, traveling, volunteering at the Detroit Thanksgiving Parade, and attending numerous BBQ competition cookoffs. Dearest to her heart was the time she spent with her grandchildren and supporting them at numerous events.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Donald whom she married April 25, 1959, her son David (Nancy) Baiers of Watervliet and her daughter Lori (Michael) Cohen of White Lake, MI. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Blake (Katie) Baiers, Ross Baiers, Benjamin Cohen, and Libby Cohen. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in- law; Joyce (Fred) Ruthsatz, James (Mary) Baiers and Ronald Banick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Henry and Edith Baiers, and sister-in-law Elaine Banick.
