
 Helen M. Baes (Brooks), 97, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
In lieu of traditional services, Helen chose to give the gift of life through anatomical donation.
 Helen was the oldest of nine children, born in Bainbridge Township on Aug. 31, 1927, to Gustav and Martha Baes. She graduated from Coloma High School in 1945. She would work various jobs over her lifetime, retiring in 1982, after 34 years with Bell Telephone System, and part-time with Woodward & Lothrop. In 1984, she went to work for a local, private bank in Remington, Virginia, retiring again in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, crocheting, needlepoint, and crossword puzzles. She loved Polka music.
 She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Eugene. More recently, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Robert. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Darlene, and her siblings August, Edward, Betty, Robert, and Sally. She is survived by her siblings Evelyn, Paul, Ruth, a host of nephews, nieces, their families, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom were all very dear to her heart.
