Hartford Boys Basketball
The Hartford varsity boys basketball team hosted Gobles on Monday, Jan. 6, for a non-conference contest, as they survived their post-holiday break woes, and a test from the visiting Tigers, to earn the win, 54-49.
The Huskies (7-1) struggled throughout the first three quarters, managing to wake up in a big way near the finish line. The two teams fought for twelve points each, in the first quarter, before Hartford took a slim, two-point lead at halftime, 21-19. The scoreboard lit up for Gobles in the third quarter, as they outscored the Huskies, 19-12, to take the lead into the final eight minutes, where Hartford responded with a scoring run of their own, 21-11, snatching away the victory.
Jeff Littlefield was the leading scorer for Hartford, scoring 12 points in the win. He was joined in double figures by Austin Reyna, with 11 points, and Mason Mireles, with 10 points.
