Hagar Twp. Board continues to address problems at Hagar Park; approves road work; receives unexpected resignation

At the regular monthly meeting of the Hagar Township Board on Jan. 13, 2025, Supervisor Izzy DiMaggio gave his report which addressed the state of the Public Safety building renovation. As of the meeting date, they were awaiting final state electrical inspection to gain occupancy. They now have the Certificate of Occupancy.

Medic 1 is covering all furniture costs for the sleeping quarters and lounge area for the new structure which leaves the estimated final cost of construction at $585,000 plus $5,000 for landscaping. The total amount of money raised was $603,000 which is broken down like this; $400,000 from the DDA, $100,000 from the North Berrien Fire Rescue Fire Board, and $103,000 in allocated ARPA funds.
