Frances Rose (Froberg) Wooley, 99, of Coloma, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at Woodland Terrace of Paw Paw Lake in Coloma.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at the Coloma United Methodist Church of which she was a member. Private graveside services have taken place in Coloma Cemetery. Frances was born Jan. 12, 1926 in Benton Harbor to Albin A. and Rose E. (Barfelz) Froberg. She attended Sterne Brunson Grade School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1943. She married George Edward Wooley April 18, 1948. She had been a lifelong resident of Coloma and a longtime resident of Ft. Myers, FL. Frances was employed by various businesses in the area, retiring from the Whirlpool Ad Center in 1985. She also owned and operated the Yesterday Ice Cream Shop in Coloma and Wooley’s Greenhouse. Frances was a member of the North Berrien Historical Society and numerous other genealogical societies.
Survivors include her children, Robert A. (Linda) Wooley of Coloma, James H. (Toy) Wooley of Arlington, TX, Nancy C. Wooley of Glendale, AZ, Wesley A. (Nancy) Wooley of Holland, MI; grandchildren, Kevin (Kristin) Wooley of Ft. Wayne, Steven (Beth) Wooley of Coloma, Erin (Eric) Wooley of Goldendale, WA, Amy Wooley of Garland, TX, Carissa Wooley of Holland, MI, Connor Wooley of Ann Arbor; great-grandchildren, Jared, Caleb, and Skylar Wooley of Ft. Wayne, and Tessa Wooley and Aidan Bethea of Coloma. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Geraldine Wooley, nephew Marc (Denise) Hettig, and nieces Rebecca Freehling and Susan Oorbeck.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband George, half-sister Katheryn (Collins) McLaughlin and a grandson, Sean Wooley.
