A truer farmer was never known, a title given from his high school yearbook.
Ernie was born July 11, 1938 in Eau Claire to Ernie and Dorothy (Schaenfeld) Andres Sr. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Ernie’s life passions were farming and his family. He started his love for farming as a child on the family farm in Sodus. After John Deere purchased the family farm, Ernie moved to Bainbridge and continued to work on the farm of his two sons until his passing. In addition to his love for farming, Ernie and his wife Carol would travel south in the winter, enjoying their time in Lakeland, FL for over 20 years.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Carol, of 64 years. They were blessed with four children, Kathy (Kevin) Rodell, Mark (Cheryl) Andres, Steve (Carol) Andres and a son John who passed away in 2018. Also surviving are his grandchildren Amanda (Sean) Mueller, Ryan (Kate) Rodell, Andrea (Jeremy) Dybdahl, Matthew Andres, Kelsey Andres, Carly (Jake) Albright, Lindsey Andres, Brooke Andres, Abby Andres, Laura Andres; 11 great-grandchildren and his sister Marie Grajauskis.
