Dwight Eugene Peters, age of 100, passed away peacefully at Caretel Inns St. Joseph, on January 25, 2025.

He was born April 5, 1924, to Henry and Matilda (Schieber) Peters in Keeler Township, Michigan. He lived and worked as a farmer his entire life on the 150-year-old family farm raising fruits, vegetables, and grain. Dwight married Althea (Arent) on May 15, 1964, in Edwardsburg, Michigan. This past year they celebrated their 60 years of marriage. His hobbies were rabbit, pheasant, and especially deer hunting, along with ice fishing on the local lakes. But his most treasured hobby was spending time with his grandchildren.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Althea (Arent); his daughter, Brenda (Brett) Peare of Newport, Michigan; his son, Stanley Peters of Three Rivers, Michigan; his five grandchildren, Shea Peare, Kline Peare, Olivia Peare, Cora Peters, and Tara Peters, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Matilda Peters; his sisters, Ruth Shannon and Virginia Barnhart; and brothers, Wilson Peters and Clarence Peters.

As per Dwight’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside service is planned for later this spring. Details will be announced at a later date. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, Michigan, with the arrangements. The family welcomes memories and messages in the online guest book at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
