Dianna “Lucy” Chandler, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 18, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on Sept. 20, 1951, and raised in Bainbridge Township, Dianna grew up on the family farm owned by her parents, Sonny and Barb Hiler. She cherished her upbringing, cultivating a lifelong love for family, hard work, and home-cooked meals. Her passion for the farm and her deep roots in the community shaped the woman so many came to know and love.
Dianna was a woman of many talents. A natural musician, she loved to play the accordion and guitar, and had a beautiful singing voice that brought joy to those around her. She had a creative spirit, spending countless hours crocheting, crafting, and sharing her warmth through everything she touched. Her love for games—especially cards and Scrabble—created many cherished memories with friends and family.
Known throughout Bainbridge Township as the best cook in town, Dianna touched thousands of lives with her famous lunch specials at the M-140 Bar. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, always full of delicious meals and even better conversation.
Dianna leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her three sons, Troland Clay, Frank Clay, and Matt (Julia) Clay; six grandchildren, Kayla Clay, Mikalah (Cole) Maguire, Cole Clay, Anna Clay, Kiera Clay, and Olivia Clay; and three great-grandchildren, Gilberto Villages, Isabella Villages, and Wasjewwn Mko Daisy. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Linda Wakefield, Laurie Todd, and Joyce Noble.
She is preceded in death her husband Ed, parents Barb and Sonny Hiler, and granddaughter Grace Elizabeth Clay.
Dianna’s faith was her foundation. She lived her life with compassion, grace, and love, and we rejoice knowing she is now home in Heaven.
Visitation for Dianna will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet where her life will be celebrated Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet. The family invites everyone to the Knights of Columbus hall in Watervliet for a luncheon immediately following the service.
Forever in our hearts. We remember her laughter, her kindness, and the many meals and memories she gave us. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Dianna’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
