Class of “74” announces Legacy 5K Walk/Run,August 3

 The Benton Harbor High School (BHHS) Class of 1974 will hold the first Annual Legacy 5K Walk/Run on Saturday August 3, 2024 starting at 8 a.m. at the corner of Colfax and Empire in front of Benton Harbor High School. The funds raised from the walk/run will be used to provide scholarships for graduates of BHHS and/ or donate to the BHHS Arts program.

 “As a class, we want to give back by paying it forward,” stated John Taylor, President of the BHHS Class of 1974. The vision is to have participation from current students, alumni, residents from Benton Harbor and surrounding communities. They encourage all organizations/clubs to join them. Taylor continued, “You don’t have to be a World Class Athlete to participate, just have a desire to support a worthy cause.” Those who prefer a shorter distance, there is also a 1-mile course.  Registration cost includes T-shirt plus race fee; $15 (youth 5-19) and $25 (adults). Late registration starts Aug. 1 with a $5 increase in cost. Race Day registration is from 7 to 7:45 a.m.
