The lack of domestic semiconductor chip production has caused delays as interruptions in the supply chain have put thousands of auto and manufacturing jobs on hold due to lack of readily available chips. Two weeks ago, the House passed the CHIPS bill after it passed in the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 64 to 33 earlier that week. It was then signed into law by the President with broad bipartisan support.
