With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alvin George Ammon, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and skilled Master Electrician. Alvin passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.
Born on Nov. 5, 1954, in Benton Harbor, Alvin was the beloved son of Lydia and George Ammon, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a cherished brother to Wilma Virkus and Erna Rabuck, and he now reunites with his brother, Harley Ammon.
For nearly 41 years, Alvin shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Joyce Ammon, building a life filled with joy, resilience, and countless beautiful memories. Together, they raised a family that brought him immense pride. He was a loving father to Joyce Rodriguez, Erin Watkins, Page Eisbrenner (Josh Eisbrenner), and Justin Rodriguez (Destiny Rodriguez), and a doting grandfather to Jacob Rodriguez, Samuel and Madelyn Gonzales, Ezra and Elias Eisbrenner, and Landon and Myla Rodriguez. He also carries in his heart the memory of his grandson, Abel, who passed before him.
Alvin dedicated nearly 45 years to his craft as a Master Electrician, owning and operating Ammon Electric, where he provided reliable service to both residential and commercial clients and many years at New Products Corp. His work was not just a profession but a testament to his skill, determination, and strong work ethic.
Beyond his career, Alvin found joy in the great outdoors. In his younger years, he loved the thrill of hunting out west and the peace of fishing at his sister’s house on Indian Lake in Vicksburg. These moments of adventure and reflection brought him happiness and created lasting memories with those he loved.
A man of faith, Alvin was a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Bangor, MI. While our hearts grieve his loss, we find peace in God’s promise: “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43). We rejoice knowing that Alvin has been made whole in his new body, free from pain and suffering, and now rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Alvin will be remembered for his generosity, his strength, and the love he poured into his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A private service will be held in his honor.
