12-01-2016 Hometown Holiday Happenings; Thanksgiving Fire

WATERVLIET NORTH SCHOOL STUDENTS… re-cently collected well over 600 food items for the Giving Liv-ing Water food pantry located at Watervliet Free Methodist Church. Pictured at the delivery are: (from the left) Grace Chisek, Jewell Burgess and Pastor Brian Hall. The students at North School hope that all families had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

BIGGEST BUCK OF HIS LIFE… Brian Arny shot this buck locally on Sunday morn-ing, November 27 with his .44 mag. at 113 yards! It green scores 192"; with a 23-24 inch spread. Biggest buck he has ev-er seen in the wild let alone shoot! Arny states, “I definitely was blessed to be able to harv-est this amazing animal!”

12-01-2016 Craft Fair fundraiser for Amanda Goss, December 3; Committee appointments made at the Coloma City Commission meeting

OKTOBERFEST PROCEEDS GO TO NORTH BERRIEN FOOD PANTRY… Jeanette Winkel from Salem Lutheran Church presents Carol Sterna-man from North Berrien Food Pantry a check for $1038. This money was raised during the church's annual Oktoberfest held on October 8, 2016 at the Coloma FOP.  Many thanks to all the businesses and people who donated for the raffles and silent auction.  Brats, sauer-kraut, and German potato salad were enjoyed by all who at-tended.

WATERVLIET SOUTH SCHOOL CHARACTER AWARDS… At South Elemen-tary they are working on putting their South School pledge into action each day.  For November and December they are focusing on learning about and being trustworthy. The "Trustworthi-ness" awards for Nov. 22, 2016 were presented to: (from the left) Alivia Stamp, kindergarten student in Mrs. Trapp's room; Brooklyn Smith, first grade stu-dent in Mrs. Cullitan's room; and Andrea Garcia, second grade student in Mrs. Iliff's room.
